Snowdrops: The Heralds of Spring

Spring hasn't quite sprung in my neck of the woods, but soon flowers will be blooming, birds will be singing and buds will be bursting with new colours.
The early bird among spring flowers, the snowdrop, has already shot up between trees and on flower beds.
Even if there's still snow on the ground, this little flower reminds us of the fact that spring is just around the corner.

This design is 74 stitches wide and 78 stitches high. The threads used are DMC B5200 (white), DMC 3756 (very light blue), DMC 164 (very light green) and DMC 701 (light green).

Do The Write Thing

Have you ever had to write something, but suffered from a lack of motivation or some creative slowdown? Just imagine having this cross stitch design hanging near your work space to inspire you to do the write thing.

This design is 92 stitches wide and 19 stitches high. Stitched on 14 or 18 count aida, it will fit into an 5×7 inch (or 13×18 cm) frame.

The threads used are DMC ECRUT, DMC 3371, DMC 613, DMC 3033, DMC 3340, DMC 815, DMC 900 and DMC BLANC.

For Anchor threads, use ANC 1011, ANC 1041, ANC 1084, ANC 886, ANC 329, ANC 22, ANC 22, ANC 335 and ANC 2 instead.

This design uses the DMC colours 310, 743, 721, 321, 825, 826 and 813. If you’re an Anchor gal (or guy) try 403, 295, 316, 20, 410 and 144.

Punny Valentine's Day Cards

Valentine's Day is just a few days away – plenty of time to stitch up one of these punny (hehehe) mini cross stitch designs. They're quick, easy and perfect for a Valentines's day card.

Just stitch them onto a scrap piece of aida, fray the edges and attach it to the front of a card with double-sided tape.

If you want to make it a little fancier, cut an aperture window into a card. Attach your stitched design with double-sided tape around the window. Back it with another sheet of paper or card stock to hide the reverse of your stitching, and you're ready to write in your card and give it to your Valentine!

The capital letters of this alphabet are seven stitches tall (up to ten stitches with descender) and the lowercase letters are four stitches tall (up to nine stitches with ascender and descender).
